When I started Skedify in 2016 with my co-founder, Christophe Thelen, our dream was to build a solution to a real problem we had seen in the market. Companies in industries such as high-end retail, financial services, and HR were looking to digitize their traditionally face-to-face services, but the tools they were using often fell short of customer expectations and the needs of their own customer service and sales teams. We saw that this was especially true in areas of high involvement decisions where sales personnel were taking on an advisory role for customers. Skedify’s mission was to meet those needs by providing an end-to-end engagement solution that enabled companies to form a closer relationship with their customers throughout the entire lifecycle, from pre-meeting scheduling, through in-meeting interaction, to post-meeting insights and reporting.
Over time, Skedify successfully built up a loyal customer base across Europe. As our experience in the market increased, we began to see that the utilization of video as a core communication tool had started to accelerate in customer-facing applications to facilitate the need for face-to-face engagement as part of the digital journey.
As a result, we partnered with Pexip to offer a brandable, secure video offering. Pexip were also seeing that the video enablement of digital customer journeys was a burgeoning market and this trend was clearly aligned with one of their three strategic pillars, Video Innovation.
Fast forward to November 2021 and our close relationship with Pexip resulted in both companies seeing that we could best serve our joint customers by providing a fully integrated client engagement, customer engagement and video application, and Skedify was acquired by Pexip. With a shared obsession for customer success, similar company cultures, and complementary technology, we saw this as a win-win situation for all.
We are now several months into the acquisition and after many days and nights of hard work, the fully integrated application is now ready for launch under the name Pexip Engage. I truly believe that this application fulfills the dreams that Christophe and I had when we started Skedify and builds further on our hopes for the original solution. More than ever, enterprises need a user-friendly and intuitive scheduling and engagement interface and when this is combined with high-quality video meeting capabilities, it’s a game-changer! Pexip Engage provides frictionless scheduling and video meetings that enable advisors to meet customers in their preferred channel at a time that suits both parties.
This has been an exciting personal journey for me, but also a journey for the former Skedify team and I am extremely proud of their resilience, professionalism, and outstanding market and technical knowledge. I am grateful to them for helping to build the Skedify vision with me and Christophe and I am glad they have joined us on the next stage of that journey as part of Pexip. I am also proud to be part of the Pexip team. You have welcomed us with open arms, showing us the true meaning of the Pexip values, allowing us to share our experiences, concerns, and suggestions in the spirit of One Team. This has enabled us to fully integrate our teams, technology, and go-to-market strategies in only five months. What is perhaps the most exciting thing for me, however, is that you really understand and are fired up about the value that we can deliver together through Pexip Engage - and we are now ready to take that out to our customers across the world. I believe this is just the beginning!
