One in six people globally live with a disability (WHO). At Pexip, we believe secure video meetings should include every one of them.

That’s why we are dedicated to making our Pexip web app accessible – and why we’ve had it independently verified to meet key accessibility standards in both the US and the EU. With the EU Accessibility Act now in effect, we aim to give organizations the confidence to meet their legal requirements, while providing a seamless and secure meeting experience for all.

Independently verified to meet major accessibility standards

Pexip’s web app was tested by Zoonou, a software testing and QA services firm, and was found to comply with:

  • Section508  (United States)
  • EN301549  (European Union) - referenced by the EU Accessibility Act
  • WCAG2.2 AA (W3C global web standards)

Our compliance ensures that organizations can meet today’s standards and get ahead of new and emerging regulations, such as the EU Accessibility Act, which took effect in June 2025.

Key accessibility features

Pexip’s accessibility features aren’t just checkboxes. They translate into practical features that make meetings easier to join and participate in for all:

  • Persistent controls: Essential functions like mute, camera, and raise hand stay visible on the screen.
  • Full keyboard navigation: Join, present, chat, and react – no mouse required.
  • Screen reader-optimized UI: Optimized UI tested with JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver.
  • Live captions and captions history: Display spoken content for hearing impaired while maintaining privacy with the use of fully self-hosted Pexip Private AI.
  • Interpreter pinning: Keeps sign language interpretation in constant view during the meeting.

Accessibility that meets your everyday meeting needs

Accessibility goes beyond compliance requirements – it's about making sure that everyone can fully participate in the meeting. It matters to the student who joins a remote lecture using a screen reader, to the finance analyst who is colorblind and attending an analyst briefing to prepare for a big trade, to the jobseeker navigating a virtual interview without a mouse, or even the government civil servant holding a public townhall about a local program.

When more people can engage without barriers, meetings become more inclusive, more productive, and more human. And that’s our kind of future.
