The Junta de Andalucía (Province of Andalucia - Spain) offers an around-the-clock, personalized teleassistance service for people requiring some form of help or monitoring, 365 days a year. The goal is to promote personal autonomy and independence among the users of this service, as well as greater social integration to improve quality of life.
This teleassistance service is designed to help people over age 65, who suffer from disabilities or require support from caregivers, who can also access this service. Its purpose is to provide immediate help to situations including loneliness, social isolation, emergency, or insecurity.
The services include:
- Direct and personalized attention to anyone need, at any time
- Immediate response to emergency situations and activation of necessary resources
- Notification to family members or caregivers if needed
- Follow-up on emergency situations
- Conversation and companionship in case of loneliness
- Information about services offered by the Andalusian Social Services System
- Regular contact with users to monitor their well-being
- Reminders for specific activities, such as medical appointments and medication
Users of this service receive a teleassistance device, which allows them to contact the teleassistance center via video, answer any call by pressing the button, and speak in hands-free mode. Additionally, service technicians conduct periodic home visits to monitor users.
Since its activation in 2002, this service has handled more than 98 million cases, with an average of 17,000 teleassistance calls daily
