Pexip to Demonstrate Video Interoperability for Microsoft Teams at Enterprise Connect
Cloud Enterprise Application Allows Customers To Continue Use Of Standards-Based Video Conferencing As They Transition To Teams
March 12, 2018

New YORK, NY., March 12, 2018 – Pexip will demonstrate its new Video Teleconferencing (VTC) interoperability solution for Microsoft Teams at Enterprise Connect 2018. The solution allows non-Microsoft users to join Teams meetings and is based on the company’s successful Skype for Business interoperability solution. The cloud enterprise application is specifically beneficial for enterprises that require control over their UC environments.

As organizations transition from Skype for Business to Teams, they want to continue using the standards-based video teleconferencing (VTC) systems they already have. With Pexip, organizations can extend their Teams meetings to include VTC systems as if they were standard Teams participants. Both Teams and VTC meeting participants will benefit from their expected native meeting experiences, preserving how they consume video, audio and content sharing.

Pexip has been collaborating closely with Microsoft in the development of a cloud video interoperability solution for Teams since it was announced at Microsoft Ignite in September 2017.

A priority in making VTC interoperability available for Teams is to ensure continuity of functionality for customers, making it seamless and easy for organizations to start using Teams. Companies that already use Pexip will be able to continue to use a single application with both Skype for Business and Teams without the need to run parallel environments. Moreover, as a cloud enterprise application, Pexip gives customers complete control of their conferencing environment—with audio, video and content in dedicated cloud application instances rather than sharing services with other organizations as is the case with standard SaaS solutions. With dedicated instances comes full control of IT administration rights, versioning, Quality of Service, and integrations, which is extremely important in today’s complex communications environments.

“With Pexip, it is a given that users should be able to use the device of their choice to join modern meetings. Providing VTC interoperability for Microsoft Teams is key to reaching that goal.”
-  Odd Sverre Østlie, Pexip CEO

“In just the past few years, the video communications market has become extremely complex with an abundance of offerings. Despite what vendors say, it is becoming more difficult for end users to provide true any-to-any collaboration solutions.” said Odd Sverre Østlie, Pexip CEO. “With Pexip, it is a given that users should be able to use the device of their choice to join modern meetings. Providing VTC interoperability for Microsoft Teams is key to reaching that goal.”

Pexip already has a Microsoft certified interoperability solution for Skype for Business so we are looking forward to expanding that functionality to our customers moving to Teams.
